We are happy to announce that we have just released a new version of our flagship software product, Syncplify Server!
What’s changed?
Fixed a Windows DFS-specific bug in our VFS pre-testing routine, which would always only verify reachability of the “first available” DFS node; now it checks all the nodes and gathers a comprehensive status of the DFS in order to better choose how to use it
Third and last sprint in our recently shared plan, this release also adds all the final functions and tools of all planned automation-related features, among which:
An optional standalone MCP server that exposes the admin REST API as tools to ChatGPT, Claude Desktop, Claude Code and any other MCP client. A separate download, not part of the server installer. It runs where the agent runs and adds no listener to the product (for obvious security reasons).
All agentic tools are now generated from the OpenAPI specification through a curated allow list. The adapter contains no business logic: it can do exactly what its token can do over REST, nothing more.
The tool list follows the token’s scopes: read tools for View permissions, write tools for Edit permissions, service tools only with the service actions scope.
Every write runs as a dry run first and returns a preview plus a confirmation token; the agent must confirm explicitly. Writes carry idempotency keys and
If-Matchautomatically.Administration only: the adapter never lists folders or reads files. Agents that move files use SFTP, which every agent framework already speaks.
The specification, the event catalog, the reason codes and the manual index are exposed as MCP resources, so the agent can read the documentation before acting.
The token is read from an environment variable or a file, never from the command line; TLS verification is on and stays always on.
