Syncplify Server! v6.0.19 released

Today we released Syncplify Server! v6.0.19; here’s what’s new and improved in this version.

Importance of this update: VERY IMPORTANT
Fixed
  • FTPES (explicit TLS) now no longer requires FTP permissions as well
  • FTP idle sessions that could not be terminated are now handled (timed-out and terminated) properly
  • Errors during WebClient! binding configuration are now handled correctly

Upgrading from v6.0.x is a simple and fairly automatic process: simply download the latest version from the official download page, and install it over the existing version, all of your settings and license will be kept.

  • Internal refresh timeout for the Dashboard (Admin UI) has been fine-tuned
  • TLS config for FTP(E/S) now works as expected when it is set as “Disabled”
  • Sharing objects via WebClient! is now subject to the correct set of permissions
  • Fixed bug in enforcement of Protector’s behavior that could lead to wrongful block-listing of legitimate client IP addresses

  • WebClient! add-on for BASIC edition now works the same way as it does in the PROFESSIONAL and ULTIMATE editions
  • Overlap between curve25519-sha256@libssh.org and curve25519-sha256 has been removed, now both implementations are rolled into the curve25519-sha256@libssh.org algorithm (so you won’t see curve25519-sha256 in the list anymore)

The next WebClient! will be capable of displaying thumbnails

Another commonly requested feature for WebClient! is the ability to display thumbnails for image/picture files, especially for the most common formats.

We’re glad to announce that we have, therefore, included an API in the new WebClient!’s back-end to do exactly that. It currently supports PNG, JPEG, GIF, and TIFF. And, in time, it will be expanded to support more formats.

Here above you can see a screenshot of a thumbnail generated by the next generation WebClient! API. Please note that the screenshot above shows the naked result from the API itself, inside of a development tool called Insomnia, this is not WebClient!’s user interface (just for clarity).
